King Crab has been expensive for the last year and doesn’t look to going down in the near future.
King Crab
20UP – Southern (a little more spiny) $41/lb
20UP – Norwegian $45.50/lb
14/17 – Alaskan $84/lb
9/12 – Alaskan $99/lb
6/9 – Alaskan $109/lb
20UP means that there are more than 20 legs/claws per 10 pounds
14/17 means that there are supposed to be 14-17 legs/claws per pound
…and so on…
Added is a pic with average weight of the legs.
Please note that all cases of crab have ‘broken’ legs. These will get distributed with customer’s orders. Otherwise, I would have waste and my prices would go up.
